Job Description:

Sr Engineers, Systems Design in Concord, CA, will perform site surveys to evaluate location and identify requirements for system design, including RF data collection.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop end to end DAS and Small Cell Solutions
  • Model indoor propagation and capacity to determine antenna placement and equipment needs
  • Apply link budget analysis, high-capacity venues design, deployment standards, traffic analysis and optimization
  • Troubleshoot alarms or performance issues at existing systems
  • Audit existing system as-builts and perform annual system audits and testing
  • Design venues using iBwave design and capacity analysis tools
  • Collect and analyze engineering network data, network KPl's and business data
  • Provide insight, trends, and forecast data sets for engineering team and management to make technical and/or fiscal decision
  • Develop dashboards & tools to automate engineer and business processes
  • Driving cross functional operations and validation teams for Software Release Planning, Production network expansions and troubleshooting issues related to Voice over LTE, TCP/IP, LTE data, and EPC technologies
  • Report automation and communicate predictions and findings across multiple business units and engineering department through effective visualizations and reports

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Telecommunications, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Working with Python, developing tools to help automate process and optimize existing tools improving efficiency and reducing errors
  • Leading roll-out for major projects like network modernization, bandwidth upgrades, new carrier additions using knowledge of cellular concepts such as LTE and 5G, Radio Access Network (RAN), OSI layer model and network gears like radios and routers
  • Using data analytics and dashboard building to foster a data-informed, automation-driven team including the following tools: Excel and PowerBI, Database Management including MySQL
  • Design of in-building Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) using iBwave, Atoll, Excel for RF planning, antenna placement, power settings and cable routing. Working on commissioning and troubleshooting major DAS OEMs like JMA/Commscope/Solid with ability to track site and data in RAN OSS
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies to support major deployment programs including Agile and Waterfall, stakeholder management skills, risk planning and management, budget management, and vendor management using tools like MS Project
  • Conducting RF walk testing, site surveys, and system validation using tools such as Nemo, TEMS, and IBflex scanner, including CW (Continuous Wave) testing, pre-installation benchmark testing, live network data collection and analysis, Fiber OTDR testing, and ATP validation for in-building DAS systems
