Job Description:

Under the direction of supervisor, the Senior R&D Engineer will be contributing to the design and development of new products or the sustainability of existing product portfolio. In addition to providing technical support and service to these areas, the incumbent may also be entrusted with team leadership responsibilities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform standard engineering assignments which are typically a significant portion of a larger project
  • Select sound techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations under the direction of supervisor
  • Utilize engineering tools to solve straightforward problems (e.g., FMEA, Finite Element Analysis, Process Modeling, Design of Experiments, Mold Flow, SPC, software development)
  • Lead small project teams as needed to accomplish project objectives
  • Monitor and report project costs including capital and cross-functional expenses
  • Estimate cost affected by design and/or policy changes
  • Study and recommend techniques to improve existing products/processes
  • Investigate new sources for raw materials or processes
  • Formulate and recommend engineering policies and technical work in accordance with project and business objectives
  • Coach and mentor direct reports (where applicable) to enhance their development within the R&D organization
  • Create/update development plans for direct reports (where applicable) in line with the R&D objectives
