As an Engineer at Eversource, you'll collaborate with industry leaders and play a key role in driving the transition from a fossil fuel-powered grid to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. You'll work on cutting-edge projects involving large-scale solar photovoltaics, offshore wind, and electric energy storage. Job Responsibility:
Identifies improvements and major repair needs on the distribution system
Assess the effect of alternative performance improvements on a cost/benefit basis and determines priorities
Responsible for engineering support to Field Engineering Design for any customer additions that require a substantial change to the distribution system
Plans system improvements in-line with customer needs and engineer circuit changes to improve performance for assigned circuits
Develops alternatives to improve circuit reliability
Recommends equipment replacement vs repair to maximize Return on Asset (ROA)
Participates during major restoration efforts including Emergency Preparedness
In addition to performing the duties of a Distribution Design Engineer, responsible for the performance and design of the electrical distribution system
Responsible for the development of projects to meet customer needs, capacity needs and address performance concerns
Position works collaboratively with all other departments to address system performance including but not limited to switching support, contingency planning, customer concerns, power quality issues and any other distribution needs
This position will be responsible for the training and mentoring of other engineers within the group, including oversight of project creation, presentation and documentation
This position will have leadership opportunities to lead 3-state engineering initiatives and will act as SME for distribution tools and engineering
Participant in or lead three state initiatives
Develop training guides and materials
Mentors and trains other Engineers
Attends industry conferences and webinars
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
Two (2) to Five (5) years of equivalent experience in Energy Delivery is preferred
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Electrical preferred
M.S. preferred
Minimum 5 years of related experience in electric utility engineering required
Three (3) years of experience in distribution engineering preferred
