Job Description

The Senior Director of Construction Operations and Project Management is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational performance, and execution of the construction portfolio. This role oversees the Construction and Project Management functions and ensures that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client experience. As a key member of the operational leadership team, the Senior Director is responsible for driving alignment across project management, field operations, logistics, and operational support functions to ensure seamless project delivery across the organization. This role plays a critical part in scaling operations, developing leadership talent, improving operational infrastructure, and strengthening Best Roofing’s position as the leading commercial roofing contractor in South Florida. The Senior Director serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership, providing insight into operational performance, identifying opportunities for process optimization, and driving initiatives that improve efficiency, profitability, and long-term scalability.

Job Responsibility

  • Establish the strategic direction for construction execution and project management operations
  • Lead operational initiatives that improve scalability, efficiency, and consistency across all job sites
  • Develop and implement systems and processes that support sustainable growth and operational excellence
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify operational opportunities and mitigate risk across the project portfolio
  • Drive alignment between construction operations and company goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and client experience
  • Provide executive oversight for all construction projects to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, safety, quality, and profitability expectations
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers and Construction Managers
  • Establish clear accountability structures and performance expectations for construction leadership
  • Provide strategic support on complex, high-value, or high-risk projects
  • Ensure consistent adherence to Best Roofing’s 31 Steps of Construction Project Management and operational standards
  • Oversee project financial performance including forecasting, margin performance, job costing, and cost controls

Requirements

  • 12–15+ years of experience in commercial construction, roofing, or related industry
  • Minimum 7+ years in senior leadership overseeing project management and construction operations
  • Proven success managing complex project portfolios and operational teams
  • Strong financial acumen including forecasting, budgeting, job costing, and margin management
  • Experience leading operational improvements and scaling construction organizations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
