Job Description:

This is a Cactus Wellhead position and is located in Houston, TX. Job Summary: Responsible for preparing product designs, this includes conceptual, assembly, and detail designs, to comply with customer, industry and company established standards and performance requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Practice safe work habits and comply with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs and regulations
  • Prepare complex product layout, detail (fabrication) and design drawings as assigned
  • Plan, coordinate and review design and drafting activities involved in the conceptual customer design proposal, definition of application, mid-level engineering calculations and manufacturing of assigned products
  • Ensure assignments meet Engineering standards and performance requirements
  • Check work performed by drafters, designers and/or engineers to verify compliance with customer requirements, industry and company standards
  • Lead design staff in analyzing design alternatives, suggest design options and prepare layouts illustrating “Original Thought” proposals
  • Assist in the development of new/improved products to meet new or changing market and/or company requirements
  • Report project status as it relates to on-time delivery, productivity and quality of design
  • Consult with other departments on designs, problems and questions
  • Establish and document required component and product testing for new and modified designs
  • Assist in the testing, as required, and production of test reports of products

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university
  • or three to five years related experience and/or training
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and use of ANSI, ASME and ISO Drafting Techniques and Geometric Tolerance
