Join Compass North America's Enterprise Data Stewardship team and play a critical role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and trustworthiness of enterprise data. As a Data Steward, you will be at the center of how master data is governed, optimized, and leveraged across the organization—driving value for both internal stakeholders and external clients. In this role, you will be responsible for governing enterprise master data assets, proactively monitoring data quality, and coordinating timely remediation. As a data steward, you are key driver of data trust, enabling a data-driven culture through strong governance, partnership, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibility:
Identify, triage, and manage data quality issues by assessing impact, aligning business and technology stakeholders, and leading effective remediation efforts
Champion data governance best practices through adherence to enterprise data standards, stakeholder education, and change management support for system and process improvements
Develop deep functional knowledge of applications supporting end-to-end master data flows
Perform root cause analysis across the Master Data Management platform and associated data to identify, document, and prioritize defects, risks, and enhancement opportunities
Recommend and contribute to enhancements of data processes, controls, and business rule logic, including validation, matching, merging, and survivorship within assigned domains
Support the standardization and documentation of business definitions to strengthen data governance
Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in data stewardship
3 years working in the data domains of Product, Vendor, and/or Client
2 years working on data management environment types: MDM, Operational DBMSs, Analytical DBMSs, Data Lakes, Operational Data Stores, or other solutions
Proven ability to prioritize multiple requests for highest value and communication clear expectations with requestors
Demonstrated talent for analyzing complex issues and reducing them to a clear outlined set of tasks
Tough mental acumen to dig deep and solve complex data problems requiring strong experience applying business logic and rules to data assets
Excellent verbal and written communication for a variety of audience groups
Proven ability to work across multiple organizations in a matrixed environment to accomplish diverse goals
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with collaborative, cross-functionally skillsets: both with business and technology stakeholders and presenting issues to both technical and non-technical audiences in a manner easily understood in both realms
Willing to think outside the box and challenge conventional and company norms to achieve success

Proven capability using research tools, including AI, such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot
Demonstrated use of advanced Excel skills
Good grounding in use of Geo-centric (mapping) tools such as Google or Bing Maps
Experience in incident reporting using tools such as Service Now, BMC Helix, JIRA, or Azure Dev Ops
Past hands-on use with Master Data Platforms such as: STEP by Stibo, Informatica MDM or other
Working SQL query construction knowledge
Use of reporting tools such as: Power BI, Tableau, Click or others
