The Senior Quality Improvement Data Consultant is responsible for harnessing data insights to enhance patient care quality, operational efficiency, and safety across the healthcare system. This role combines expertise in data analysis, quality improvement, and stakeholder collaboration to drive impactful, data-driven strategies that improve clinical outcomes. Working closely with clinical, administrative, and IT teams, the consultant will collect, analyze, and interpret diverse data sets, using advanced statistical methodologies and visualization tools to inform decision-making and support quality initiatives. The position involves maintaining robust data governance standards, ensuring data accuracy, and providing clear, actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and presentations. With a focus on continuous improvement, the Clinical Quality Data Analytics Consultant will actively participate in quality improvement projects, deliver training on data tools and methodologies, and support the development of a culture of safety and quality.
Job Responsibility:
Data Analysis, Monitoring, and Reporting – Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data from various sources, including the Vizient Clinical Database and EPIC EHR
Perform as an expert user of the Vizient Clinical Database to meet end-user data needs
Analyze data using applicable statistical methodologies, including regression analysis/risk adjustment, using tools such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS, and other tools as needed
Support development, updating and distribution of quality and patient safety dashboard and other standard reports
Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in clinical processes
Provide data insights to customers in a readily accessible and actionable manner using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and other tools as needed
Quality Improvement – Serve on quality improvement teams to support data and information needs of high priority quality improvement projects
Monitor the effectiveness of quality improvement projects and provide feedback through data insights
Promote continual improvement in data visualization and reporting processes
Stakeholder Collaboration – Work with cross-functional teams to support clinical quality initiatives
Collaborate with Wellstar's Data Warehouse team to extract data using SQL, SAS, or Python tools
Provide training and support to staff on data collection and analysis techniques
Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
Data Governance – Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical data sets and/or dashboards
Ensure data integrity and security in accordance with organizational policies
Develop and implement data management/governance protocols and procedures
Research and Development – Stay current with industry trends and best practices in clinical quality and data analysis
Participate in quality and safety research projects and contribute to publications and/or presentations
Develop innovative solutions to improve data analysis, visualization, and reporting processes
Requirements:
Bachelors Computer Science Required
Bachelors Information Systems Required or Bachelors Computer and Information Science Required
Minimum 5 years Clinical Analysis Required
Minimum 5 years Experience in Healthcare setting Preferred
