We are looking for an experienced Sr. Credit Policy Analyst to support credit strategy and policy governance in Solano County, California. This role focuses on shaping lending guidelines through data-driven analysis, regulatory awareness, and a strong understanding of portfolio risk. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong quantitative skills, and the ability to partner across business functions to improve credit performance and policy effectiveness.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, refine, and maintain credit policies that support responsible lending decisions, regulatory adherence, and sustainable portfolio performance.
Evaluate current and proposed policy changes by analyzing their effect on credit risk, loss exposure, and overall business results.
Review lending practices to confirm alignment with internal standards as well as applicable external compliance requirements.
Measure the performance of credit policies using portfolio trends, key metrics, and analytical findings, then recommend practical improvements.
Research economic conditions, industry developments, and competitor activity to identify factors that may influence credit strategy.
Partner with stakeholders across finance, risk, and operations to roll out policy updates and promote consistent execution.
Build and interpret credit risk models, portfolio analysis, and reporting that support policy recommendations and decision-making.
Prepare clear presentations and visual reports for leadership to explain policy rationale, risk insights, and performance outcomes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, mathematics, statistics, analytics, or a related field
or a master’s degree with at least 2 years of related experience
or equivalent relevant experience.
At least 5 years of experience in credit policy analysis, credit strategy, or policy development within financial services.
Minimum of 4 years using analytical tools, performance metrics, and business insights to guide policy and risk decisions.
Strong expertise in credit analysis, commercial credit, credit applications, and credit risk management.
Demonstrated ability to assess borrower and portfolio risk through financial analysis, scoring approaches, and policy frameworks.
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to lending and credit risk oversight.
Proficiency with reporting and data visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
Clear communication skills with the ability to explain analysis, influence stakeholders, and support cross-functional collaboration.
