This position is responsible for reconciling inventory balances, validating inventory‑related data transfers between systems, performing recurring cost accounting activities, and managing the organization’s fixed asset records. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly analytical, and experienced in a manufacturing or inventory‑driven environment.
Job Responsibility:
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reconciliations across warehouses, production sites, and third‑party logistics providers
Reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger and investigate/resolve discrepancies
Review inventory adjustments, scrap, write‑offs, and cycle count results to ensure proper valuation and accounting treatment
Ensure timely and accurate capture of COGS, purchase price variances, and standard cost updates
Monitor and validate inventory transactions for accuracy (production orders, transfers, receipts, returns, consumptions, BOM usage)
Prepare recurring cost accounting entries, including labor, overhead allocation, production variances, and WIP adjustments
Analyze inventory trends, variances, and cost structure changes to support operational decision‑making
Support month‑end close activities by preparing journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensuring timely capitalization, retirements, and disposals
Prepare and review monthly depreciation entries and account reconciliations
Partner with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and IT teams to improve data flow, reporting accuracy, and operational transparency
Participate in physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and operational audits
Support internal and external auditors by providing required documentation
Requirements:
Proven experience in cost accounting and inventory management, preferably within a manufacturing, CPG, Food production, or inventory-focused environment
Hands-on experience with a modern, cloud based ERP system, such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP S/4 Hana, or Dynamics Business Central
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
BS Degree in Accounting or similar
