Job Description:

Anna Parson at Robert Half is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in Hauppauge seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant. This role will support inventory accuracy, cost analysis, and operational decision-making in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare inventory accounting reconciliations, rollforwards, journal entries, inventory reserve analyses, and handle all aspects of the month end close related to Inventory/COGS to inventory balances are accurate and properly reflected in accordance with GAAP
  • Analyze standard costing, labor, overhead, manufacturing variances, and margins at the product and batch level
  • Update and maintain cost data tied to bills of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Partner with operations and plant leadership to review expenses, improve cost visibility, and strengthen controls
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit support
  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting accuracy, processes, and cost controls

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong inventory, standard costing, and variance analysis experience
  • ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership
