Job Description

Work Arrangement - This role is categorized as on-site. The successful candidate is expected to report to the Advanced Technical Center in Shanghai and up to 50% travel frequency to SGMW facility in Liuzhou as business need. The Role - Along with the growth of China automotive industry, the export of China local vehicle products are also getting rapid growth. GM is also trying to have Onstar service enabled in those exports vehicles that produced by local partner in different market. In this position you will be responsible to ensure GM’s global Onstar solution will working properly in China local partner’s export vehicle programs.

Job Responsibility

  • Be the fully qualified and experienced professional window person to the GM global development team/tech specialist to ensure critical technical requirement understanding are aligned. And also ensure issues are escalated and decisions are downloaded to local team
  • Maintain and improve the technical requirements and align with supplier implementation
  • Take broader challengers to work with partner and their supplier to understand their vehicle arch and the impact to GM’s Onstar software and ensure the connectivity solution can both work with local partner’s vehicle architecture as well as GM’s requirement to have Onstar working in different market regions
  • Work with global technical experts to identify devise engineering solution and understand on the GM Onstar technology and the dependencies on the supplier’s HW/SW platform, to ensure GM’s software can be well integrated and feature working as expected
  • Be capable of working independently to face partner and supplier on technical discussions
  • Be able to setting up integration test plan and setup with validation team to conduct first round of integration/development test to ensure supplier’s implementation fits well with GM’s requirements
  • Work with the DRE and other functional team to ensure the technical parts of the development work meets the overall development timing
  • Tracking each Jira ticket to have them analyzed and root caused in time and work with DRE on the delivery plan to include the fixes to have great impact on program deviation and decisions

Requirements

  • 5-15 years of experience of telematic product development
  • Understand wireless technology in different regions including global carrier and certification
  • Understand how telematic module is designed, developed and manufactured
  • Knowledge in connectivity software components and how software components are connected and integrated will be a plus
  • Knowledge in automotive electrical systems and functional sub-systems
  • BS in Software / Computer Science / Electrical / Electronics Engineering is preferred
  • Demonstrated professional and qualified technical understanding in connectivity area
  • Demonstrated influencing communication skills to explain technical issues or topics, and willing to take challenges on problem-solving with advanced analytical techniques
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English
  • Hands on experience in telematic system testing, knowledge on how to operate common telematics modules and software issue analysis, showing broader functional view on not only module, but also E2E system level
  • Strong motivation and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to conduct and participate in conference calls outside normal work hours
  • Willing to travel with up to 50% of the working time
