This role is crucial for handling procurement categories to achieve cost reductions while maintaining product quality and supplier service levels. It involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies, handling supplier negotiations, contracts, and ongoing supplier relationships within designated categories. The role leads strategic procurement across Credit Risk, Fraud, and Collections – three high-stakes categories at the intersection of financial performance and regulatory exposure. The Sr. Category Manager will develop and implement sourcing strategies that reduce total cost of ownership, optimize vendor relationships, and actively mitigate supplier and compliance risk across this specialized portfolio. Success is measured by savings delivery, supply base optimization, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-moving enterprise environment.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for Credit Risk, Fraud, and Collections categories – delivering measurable cost reductions while protecting service continuity and compliance posture
Manage supplier negotiations and handle end-to-end contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and performance governance across key vendor relationships
Partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Operations stakeholders to align procurement strategy with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements specific to credit and fraud environments
Analyze market trends, pricing benchmarks, and supplier landscapes to surface actionable insights and present strategic recommendations
Lead cost savings programs and track progress to ensure continuous financial impact and alignment with growth plans
Manage supplier performance through structured SLA oversight, QBRs, and risk mitigation frameworks tailored to high-sensitivity financial service providers
Support RFP/RFI development, evaluation, and award processes – including scoring design, stakeholder alignment, and final recommendation packages
Identify process improvement opportunities within procurement workflows (P2P intake, Legal/Risk review cycles) to increase efficiency and reduce cycle time
Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree plus 7 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 5 years of related experience
Acceptable areas of study include Supply Chain Management/Business/Engineering
7+ years of relevant experience
5+ year track record in a global procurement organization
Sourcing Indirect spends categories (including Credit Risk, Fraud, And Collections)
Advanced key procurement skills: Development / management of category strategies
RFP / RFI development, contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, management of supplier relationship lifecycle, understanding of risk mitigation principles, and understanding of various cost evaluation methods (TCO, return on investment, Payback Period, etc.)
