The Business Analyst in the Analytics CoE is responsible for supporting the end‑to‑end delivery of analytics use cases by translating business needs into clear, structured analytics and data requirements. The role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and analytics delivery teams, ensuring that analytics solutions (dashboards, reports, data products) are accurate, relevant, and aligned to business decisions. The BA focuses on execution excellence, working under guidance of senior BAs or product managers while owning well‑defined modules or use cases independently
Job Responsibility:
Engage with business stakeholders to understand business processes, reporting needs, and decision requirements
Support translation of business questions into analytics use cases and problem statements
Identify key KPIs, metrics, and dimensions required to support business decisions
Gain functional understanding of supported domains (e.g., Supply Chain, Finance, Operations)
Gather and document business, functional, and analytical requirements
Create clear artefacts such as: Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS) User stories and acceptance criteria
Define metric logic, calculation rules, data granularity, and filters
Ensure requirements are unambiguous, testable, and aligned with analytics standards
Perform basic to intermediate data analysis to validate requirements and business logic
Analyze datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues
Validate dashboards, reports, and KPIs from a business correctness perspective
Support root‑cause analysis for data discrepancies and reporting issues
Work as part of an analytics delivery pod with Product Managers, Analytics Engineers, and Data Engineers
Clarify requirements and answer business questions during development
Participate in UAT, defect triage, and business sign‑off
Ensure analytics outputs meet business expectations and usability standards
Act as a day‑to‑day contact for business users on assigned analytics use cases
Support preparation of insight summaries, walkthroughs, and demos
Communicate clearly with technical teams using structured and precise language
Escalate risks, gaps, and dependency issues to senior BAs or managers in a timely manner
Maintain documentation such as: KPI definitions and metric catalogs Process flows and data mappings Assumptions and business rules
Contribute to Analytics CoE knowledge repositories and standards
Ensure continuity and reuse of analytics artefacts across initiatives
Requirements:
6–9 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Analytics Analyst
Experience working in analytics, BI, or data‑driven environments
Good understanding of business processes and performance metrics
Exposure to domains such as Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, or Operations is preferred
Experience working in cross‑functional, matrixed teams
Hands‑on exposure to analytics and reporting platforms
Experience working with SAP Analytics ecosystems (BW, HANA, S/4) is strongly preferred
Solid understanding of: KPIs, facts, dimensions, hierarchies Data aggregation and grain concepts
Experience validating dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
Ability to perform data validation using tools such as Excel, SQL or analytics platforms
Strong analytical and logical thinking
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to translate business language into structured requirements
Attention to detail and strong documentation discipline
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, delivery‑oriented environment
Willingness to learn and grow into senior BA or analytics product roles
