This position is hybrid, expected on-site approximately 2 days per month (usually Thursdays). The Senior Benefits Analyst, Health & Welfare, administers multiple complex Health and welfare benefits programs. Recommending plan changes and serving as a resource to staff on benefit issues. Undertakes specific projects in the areas of benefit plan or system replacements, enhancements, or additions. Including participation in long-term strategy and advanced analytics.
Job Responsibility:
Reconciles and interprets benefits vendor invoices to payroll deduction activity, reconciles and interprets data changes from the HRIS benefits and payroll modules to ensure data consistency runs complex queries for deductions, and provides information and recommendations to management for funding
Identifies and conducts ad hoc projects across the various functions of the hospital under the guidance of Manager
Serves as SME point for complex activities of external benefit administrators and vendors
Provides insight into annual benefits plan review by monitoring claims and administrative experience. Analyzes costs and survey results, reports variances
Coordinates and submits external data submissions on a timely/accurate basis, resolves and reconciles any data issues
Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working group's achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment
Administers benefit plans in compliance with plan documents and contracts
Reconciliation and processing of benefits vendor invoices
Acts as a liaison between the organization and third-party benefits providers
Audits monthly/weekly vendor enrollment and eligibility files
Works with HRIS and vendor to ensure accurate and time data transmission
Supports and administers the day-to-day activities of external benefit administrators and vendors
Addresses unusual or difficult employee inquiries/situations or refers to the appropriate individual
Prepares documents and maintains records necessary for terminating coverage.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred
Five years experience with benefit plan design, automation, administration, health and wellness program required
Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel, and advanced database skills
Knowledge of health and wellness systems, reporting programs, and networks, with the ability to identify opportunities for enhanced practices
Knowledge of existing and emerging Health and Wellness programs and industry best practices
Skilled at evaluating health and wellness program value with analytics and understanding content within the data.
