This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join the Capital One Brand Finance team as a Sr. Associate, Project Manager, serving as an internal subject matter expert responsible for managing the end-to-end budget process for Brand marketing budgets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for organization, love to work with numbers, and an ability to pull together a large group of key internal stakeholders and external agency partners to plan, track, and report on national marketing investments.

Job Responsibility

  • Create and maintain budget tracking spreadsheets
  • develop methodologies and processes that provide transparency of costs
  • identify ways to improve and streamline business process
  • drive financial management projects based on defined priorities, ensure scope of deliverables, identify risks and issues and mitigate or escalate as needed
  • partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership
  • gather inputs from people and agency reports to create monthly financial forecasts
  • reconcile actual spend each month, perform variance analysis, and provide commentary
  • learn and utilize Xstream and Finsight to pull financial data
  • perform reporting and analysis to support presentations and ad-hoc requests
  • interpret and understand Capital One accounting policies to provide guidance to customer base
  • calculate monthly accruals
  • create and submit journal entries for reclass and accruals
  • consult with accounting policy as needed to determine proper accounting classification for new agency contracts

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • at least 2 years of experience in financial analysis
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis or accounting or a combination
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • experience with MS Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • proven business relationship, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • demonstrated independent problem solving and strategic thinking abilities
  • experience with Capital One XStream, Finsight and Global One systems
