Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. This role will be working on the Model One product team.Model One is an existing full-stack application that provides the core technology for model risk management at Capital One. We are on a multi-year technology journey to transform the user experience and make it easier to record, manage, and analyze data and activities related to models and model-related objects. In this role, you’ll learn the essentials of being a product manager, and we’ll invest in you to grow in five key areas: Human Centered, Business Focused, Technology Driven, Integrated Problem Solving, Transformational Leadership.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and build software to help us improve credit risk management practices
  • Work with design and technology partners to research, ideate, and deliver new features and functionality that address associate needs
  • Help the business to build the right product and provide support through change management
  • Prioritize the product backlog by regularly refining intent to maximize business and customer outcomes and efficiency
  • Collaborate with tech teams to build comprehensive acceptance criteria
  • Breakdown business epics into features and further into user stories
  • Effectively use hypothesis-driven assessment of data to ensure your product or feature delivers on real business needs
  • Own and prioritize feature development roadmaps
  • Work autonomously in an agile environment, to conduct research and develop features that utilize new and evolving technology
  • Collaborate with designers, technologists, data scientists and subject-matter experts to build cutting edge solutions
  • Deliver well-managed product platforms for customers by seeking to understand technology trends and architecture strategy
  • Develop and champion a bold vision that drives meaningful outcomes
  • Build frameworks for complex decision making
  • By actively participating in horizontal forums, harness a network of trusted relationships
  • Articulate a succinct product roadmap to deliver business value and share with stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of product management experience or at least 1 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 1+ years translating business strategy or analysis into consumer facing digital products
  • 1+ years of experience working on data products and platforms powering digital experiences
  • 1+ years working with cross functional teams as a product owner in an agile development process
