The Sr. Associate – GL – SSC is responsible for driving accurate financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, fixed asset and lease accounting, and ensuring compliance with global RTR standards. The role supports month-end/year-end closing, audits, stakeholder coordination, and process optimization. The role also contributes to continuous improvement, automation initiatives, and mentoring junior associates as part of the future leadership pipeline.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain accurate reconciliations of vendor and customer accounts
Manage GL entries, journals, and financial records with accuracy
Ensure correct posting of fixed asset and lease accounting transactions
Perform month-end/year-end close activities
Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and trial balance statements
Conduct variance analysis and financial assessments
Ensure compliance with taxation and internal accounting policies
Support budgeting and forecasting activities
Ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and internal control frameworks
Identify and implement process improvements and automation within RTR
Support audits through documentation, reconciliations, and compliance reports
Participate in daily huddles, governance calls, and operational discussions
Maintain audit readiness with proper financial documentation
Update SOPs, workflow charts, and process manuals
Collaborate with global stakeholders and external auditors
Support transition governance and documentation activities
Participate in KT sessions and ensure effective process handover
Document best practices and learnings
Follow governance frameworks, risk-control standards, and statutory guidelines
Maintain accurate compliance documentation for audits
Coordinate with onshore PICs to resolve RTR-related issues
Adhere to corporate financial policies and reporting standards
Analyze RTR processes to identify inefficiencies
Collaborate with functional teams to implement automation tools
Lead continuous improvement activities using performance metrics
Mentor and train junior associates
Stay updated on accounting standards, tax regulations, and global best practices
Participate in knowledge-sharing and capability-building initiatives
Requirements:
Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce
Basic MS Office Certification
Minimum 8 years of experience in GL accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations
SAP experience preferred
Strong knowledge of RTR processes
Advanced MS Excel skills
Shipping/logistics industry experience (preferred)
Experience in BPO/SSC/Outsourcing (preferred)
Good knowledge of geography (continents, countries, ports)
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
