We are looking for an Applications Scientist to join our R&D/Applications team, with a focus on our line of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary high technology environment.
Job Responsibility:
Become an expert in SciAps’ analytical algorithms, calibration techniques, and spectral interpretation for EDXRF products
Develop a deep understanding of customer applications
Characterize and refine new applications and custom calibrations
Write application reports and share/present to our customers and internally
Review, interpret, and prepare reports of XRF data for large analytical projects
Support the sales team with demonstrations and training
Support the customer service team when troubleshooting advanced analytical issues
Create documentation for calibration processes and analytical Quality Assurance procedures
Provide prompt calibration and analytical support for complex issues to the manufacturing department
Ability to work with other SciAps analytical products, including LIBS and NIR as required
Requirements:
At least 3-5 years of experience, ideally within instrumentation, technology, or research industries
Self-starter with superior analytical and experimental skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to deal with a dynamic environment where priorities can change frequently
Ability to think creatively, work independently, take on a variety of technical hurdles
PhD or MS in hard science, such as Physics or Chemistry, or equivalent experience and training
BS with relevant experience will be considered
Nice to have:
Familiarity with EDXRF, especially Fundamental Parameters
Experience programming and debugging code (especially Java and C++)
