Job Description:

We are looking for an Applications Scientist to join our R&D/Applications team, with a focus on our line of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary high technology environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Become an expert in SciAps’ analytical algorithms, calibration techniques, and spectral interpretation for EDXRF products
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer applications
  • Characterize and refine new applications and custom calibrations
  • Write application reports and share/present to our customers and internally
  • Review, interpret, and prepare reports of XRF data for large analytical projects
  • Support the sales team with demonstrations and training
  • Support the customer service team when troubleshooting advanced analytical issues
  • Create documentation for calibration processes and analytical Quality Assurance procedures
  • Provide prompt calibration and analytical support for complex issues to the manufacturing department
  • Ability to work with other SciAps analytical products, including LIBS and NIR as required

Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience, ideally within instrumentation, technology, or research industries
  • Self-starter with superior analytical and experimental skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal with a dynamic environment where priorities can change frequently
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently, take on a variety of technical hurdles
  • PhD or MS in hard science, such as Physics or Chemistry, or equivalent experience and training
  • BS with relevant experience will be considered

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with EDXRF, especially Fundamental Parameters
  • Experience programming and debugging code (especially Java and C++)
