The ServiceNow Developer will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Vulnerability Response (VR) application and related SecOps modules within the ServiceNow platform. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining solutions that support enterprise vulnerability management processes, ensuring seamless data flow, effective remediation workflows, and strong integration with security tools. In addition to SecOps expertise, the developer will act as a key designer and builder of ServiceNow catalog items, request workflows, and automated processes across ITSM, ITOM, and other platform capabilities. The role includes day-to-day system administration, platform configuration, release management support, and ensuring adherence to governance, best practices, and architectural standards.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ServiceNow Vulnerability Response within the ServiceNow platform
Support upgrades for ServiceNow Vulnerability Response
Design, configure, and enhance ServiceNow Vulnerability Response applications
Support integrations with external vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Tenable)
Develop automated processes for vulnerability ingestion, assignment, grouping, prioritization, and remediation workflows
Work closely with InfoSec teams to optimize vulnerability lifecycle processes
Build and maintain Flows, Subflows, Workflows, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Scheduled Jobs, and other platform components
Support catalog development, request automation, and fulfillment processes
Collaborates with a team of IT professionals to establish specifications for new applications
Contribute to platform-wide enhancements including CMDB, Incident, Problem, Change, and custom apps as needed
Troubleshoot issues, resolve defects, and support end-user inquiries
Conducts both functional and non-functional testing
Consults and collaborates with business leaders, end user, IT staff, vendors, and other third parties throughout the application development lifecycle
Independently document product requirements, design solutions, develop prototype plans, write, and test code, and provide support for issue resolution
Develops, administers, and supports applications and associated data in the GDMS infrastructure
Designs innovative prototypes according to specifications
Create technical documents to accurately describe application design and code
Ensures applications seamlessly integrate and interoperate with other systems, subsystems, and IT infrastructure components while maintaining compliance with comprehensive information security requirements. (e.g. interface management, data integration systems, job automation)
Reviews and updates existing applications to reprogram, adding new features as needed
Recommends coding solutions to resolve issues and improve applications efficiency for business process automation
Writes high-quality source code to develop functional applications within schedule deadlines
Troubleshoots and debugs applications
Performs unit and integration testing prior launch, using sample data sets to ensure program output meets the requirements. Conduct design reviews, performance testing and peer code reviews
Removes obstacles to progress and contributes strategic direction to development methodologies and practices. Proactively seeks to incorporate product improvements independently
Leads, plans, and executes projects, small initiatives, and/or cross-functional teams
Supports the management of high risk, high profile, tight schedule, and complex outcomes with composure
Moderate business travel may be required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering and/or related field or equivalent experience, plus 8 years of related experience or Master’s degree and 6 years of related experience
U.S. citizenship is required
3–5+ years of hands-on development experience within ServiceNow
Experience with IntegrationHub, MID Servers, REST/SOAP integrations
Experience with Agile delivery methodologies
Strong expertise with SecOps Vulnerability Response
Proficient in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, and platform automation tools
Solid understanding of ITSM processes and ServiceNow data structures
