We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant specializing in inventory to join our team in Kapolei, Hawaii. This is a long-term contract role within the energy and natural resources industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to inventory management and financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting processes and inventory control, ensuring precision and efficiency in all tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Perform daily reconciliations of terminal operations, including accounting for inventory, receipts, sales, and transfer volumes
Analyze petroleum product inventories to ensure accuracy and compliance
Oversee exchange inventory accounting, including postings, tracking balances, and managing fees in collaboration with exchange partners
Provide timely and accurate inventory reports to suppliers and customers
Maintain and update inventory records with a high level of accuracy
Prepare monitoring reports to ensure effective inventory control and proper documentation
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, record journal entries, and support month-end and year-end closing activities
Validate purchase terms and invoices related to inventory transactions
Develop special reports as needed to address unique operational requirements
Collaborate with team members to share ideas, address challenges constructively, and uphold a positive and inclusive work environment
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on inventory management
Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries
Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations
Experience with SAP software and asset inventory management
Ability to analyze and validate inventory purchase terms and invoices
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Commitment to safety standards and adherence to relevant policies
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
