Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in the Inland Empire on a Contract to hire basis. This role will support a portfolio of recurring clients, with a strong focus on complex accounting operations, financial close activities, reconciliations, and audit readiness. The position is well suited for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage multiple client needs, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to both day-to-day accounting and special project work.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger
  • Perform bank reconciliations across multiple client accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner
  • Lead monthly close activities, including balance sheet reviews, account analysis, and posting adjustments as needed
  • Complete account reconciliations related to cash, accruals, payroll, and other key financial areas to support accurate reporting
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide accounting support for a high volume of upcoming financial audits within established deadlines
  • Contribute to project-based accounting work involving cash-basis and accrual-basis reporting requirements for client engagements
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed to maintain complete and reliable financial records
  • Provide accounting assistance tied to organizational transition efforts when required, ensuring continuity and accuracy in reporting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including senior-level responsibility for financial close and reconciliations
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close procedures
  • Experience preparing bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and payroll-related reconciliations
  • Background supporting audit engagements and responding to financial audit documentation requests
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes in a multi-client or multi-entity environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across several assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Experience working with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, or similarly regulated environments is preferred
