We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity in Denver, Colorado. This role is well suited for someone with strong attention to detail who can manage complex close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a hands-on approach to reconciliations and journal entries, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic IT Software environment.
Job Responsibility:
Lead critical month-end close activities, ensuring financial results are recorded accurately and delivered on schedule
Prepare and post journal entries that support routine accounting operations, accruals, and period-end adjustments
Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting overall financial accuracy
Perform detailed account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to confirm balances and identify variances promptly
Manage fixed asset accounting processes, including tracking asset activity, depreciation, and related reporting
Develop and record monthly accruals while validating supporting documentation and alignment with accounting policies
Use NetSuite and Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data, produce schedules, and support reporting requirements
Partner with internal stakeholders to address accounting issues, improve workflow efficiency, and support ongoing finance initiatives
Requirements:
5+ years of accounting experience, including substantial exposure to senior-level accounting responsibilities
Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, and preparation of journal entries
Proven experience completing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy
Hands-on knowledge of accrual accounting, including monthly accrual preparation and review
Experience supporting fixed asset accounting and maintaining related financial records
Proficiency with NetSuite and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
