Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles by preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and ensuring financial statements are finalized on schedule
Maintain the general ledger and supporting records with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and alignment with applicable accounting standards
Produce recurring financial reports and detailed schedules that provide leadership with clear visibility into business performance
Compile consolidated reporting packages, including the elimination and reconciliation of intercompany balances and transactions
Prepare required indirect tax filings and coordinate with outside advisors to support income tax reporting and related compliance activities
Review work-in-progress activity, track project-related costs, and reconcile balances to support accurate financial presentation
Partner with management on annual budgeting and forecast updates, and analyze variances between actual results and plan
Monitor financial trends, evaluate operating results, and deliver insights that support informed business decisions and efficiency improvements
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules while supporting audit requests, internal controls, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
Requirements
Strong experience with month-end and year-end close activities in a senior-level accounting role
Solid knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation processes
Proven ability to prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports with a high degree of accuracy
Experience handling bank reconciliations, intercompany activity, and consolidated financial reporting
Familiarity with sales tax, use tax, and other compliance-related reporting requirements
Ability to analyze budgets, forecasts, and operating results to identify variances and recommend next steps
Strong proficiency in Japanese is required or strongly preferred, depending on business needs
