We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. This role is ideal for candidates with expertise in fund accounting, grants management, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, managing budgets, and supporting year-end audits.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee fund accounting activities, including managing grants from federal, local, and organizational sources
Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements to the executive committee and organizational board on a quarterly basis
Perform high-volume reconciliations for multiple loan programs and bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Handle budgeting and cash management to support organizational financial goals
Manage payroll reporting, including bi-monthly payroll and local payroll tax for under 100 employees
Conduct month-end close processes and ensure timely preparation of financial statements
Report loan activity to the credit bureau, including adjustments for prime rate changes
Assist with year-end audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, journal entries, and financial data
Utilize QuickBooks for accounting tasks and reporting
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is highly preferred
Proven experience in fund accounting, particularly within non-profit organizations
Strong knowledge of grants management, including federal, local, and micro-grants
Proficiency in budgeting, cash management, and payroll reporting
Expertise in handling high-volume reconciliations for loans and bank accounts
Familiarity with QuickBooks Pro, Enterprise, or similar accounting software
Ability to prepare and deliver financial presentations to executive committees and boards
Knowledge of compliance requirements related to loan programs and audits
