The Accountant will play an essential role in daily and monthly accounting operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in reconciliation, financial accuracy, and supporting the business with meaningful analysis. You will have exposure to a wide range of accounting functions—including bank and balance sheet activities, payroll support, and job costing—and will participate in special projects that help improve processes and support continued growth. Job Responsibility:
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and timely
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and review accounts for accuracy each month
Manage subcontractor payroll, including verification, setup, compliance, and weekly processing
Support job costing, ensuring accurate tracking, coding, and reporting of job-related expenses
Process and review employee expense reports following company policies
Handle intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and cross-entity activity
Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and preparing the P& L
Maintain prepaid schedules and recurring allocations
Prepare and file sales tax reports and monitor multi-jurisdiction compliance
Track, assess, and support franchise tax requirements and exposure
Work on a variety of special projects, process improvements, and ad-hoc reporting as assigned
Utilize QuickBooks Desktop to manage day-to-day accounting activity
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting
Construction - WIP, POC or Job Costing experience
Small to mid-sized company experience
Intermediate Excel skills
