We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for manufacturing facilities in New Albany, Ohio. This role will oversee period-end activities, analyze financial performance, and help maintain accurate reporting across balance sheet and income statement accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong reconciliation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with auditors and cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare financial reports for assigned plant operations and explain account movements and balance sheet fluctuations to management
Lead month-end close activities, ensuring entries are recorded accurately and deadlines are consistently met
Perform detailed comparisons between budgeted results and actual performance, highlighting key drivers behind variances
Complete account reconciliations across multiple areas, including cash and other general ledger balances, and resolve discrepancies promptly
Reconcile bank activity and investigate unusual items to maintain accuracy in cash reporting
Partner with external auditors and support internal control processes by providing documentation and responding to audit-related questions
Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity to confirm transactions are properly recorded and aligned with accounting standards
Manage inventory-related accounting and fixed asset capitalization, ensuring transactions are classified correctly and supported by appropriate records
Requirements:
Experience with month-end close in a corporate or manufacturing accounting environment
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and preparation of journal entries
Proven ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently
Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and cash-related accounting processes
Demonstrated skill in analyzing financial variances and communicating findings clearly
Familiarity with reviewing accounts payable and accounts receivable activity for accuracy and completeness
Understanding of inventory accounting and fixed asset capitalization principles
Ability to collaborate with audit teams and support control-focused accounting activities
