A leading global financial services firm’s real estate investment platform is seeking a Public Accounting Senior looking to transition their accounting and analytics expertise into a dynamic role within mortgage financing and investment operations. Job Responsibility:
Prepare monthly workbooks supporting close, controls, and business processes
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly SEC financial reporting and filings
Oversee third-party service providers responsible for portfolio valuation and accounting
Ensure investment, derivative, and financing activities are communicated and recorded accurately
Review investment portfolio reporting and resolve variances across front-, middle-, and back-office systems
Coordinate with internal investment services teams to ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of open items
Support SOX compliance efforts, including coordination with control owners and deliverables
Review monthly expense reimbursement summaries and related analysis
Partner cross-functionally with Fund Operations, Capital Markets, Debt Financing, and Deal teams
Train, oversee, and review work performed by support teams
Assist with internal and external audits
Coordinate internal and external wire transfers
Communicate key findings from monthly processes and support ad hoc analysis for senior management
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of public accounting audit experience, preferably within financial services or real estate
CPA required (or parts passed)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel highly preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal abilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Nice to have:
Proven experience in public auditing, with a preference for candidates familiar with the real estate industry
Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and resolving financial discrepancies
Familiarity with accounting software and tools is highly desirable
