We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Eugene, Oregon. This role is ideal for someone with a keen attention to detail and expertise in non-profit accounting and financial reporting. You will play a key role in supporting audits, preparing tax documentation, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Job Responsibility:
Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Prepare and post journal entries to support financial transactions
Oversee fund accounting activities for non-profit operations, ensuring proper allocation of resources
Assist in annual audit preparation by compiling necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries
Update and manage budget information using QuickBooks Online, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals
Generate detailed financial reports using Microsoft Excel to support decision-making processes
Provide tax-related information, including 990 documentation, to relevant stakeholders
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance
Requirements:
Proven experience in month-end close procedures and general ledger maintenance
Strong understanding of journal entries and their impact on financial reporting
Demonstrated expertise in fund accounting, particularly for non-profit organizations
Familiarity with auditing processes and requirements
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online for budget management and financial tracking
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including report generation and data analysis
Knowledge of 501(c)(3) regulations and 990 tax documentation
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently within a contract role
