Job Responsibility:
Provide timely and accurate financial reporting that supports informed decision‑making by leadership
Complete month‑end closing activities, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliation
Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements
Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger balances, and reserve accounts on a monthly basis
Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
Review and prepare journal entries, intercompany activity, accruals, and other routine accounting adjustments
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns
Process monthly commission calculations
Analyze financial results to identify operational weaknesses and recommend improvements
Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring organized workflows, proper documentation, and timely processing
Ensure accounting methods, procedures, and internal controls align with generally accepted accounting practices
Maintain up‑to‑date balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain accounting policies and procedures, and support process improvement efforts
Provide cross‑functional backup within the Accounting team to support overall operations
Assist leadership by taking on more supervisory‑level tasks that help reduce the Controller’s original workload
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
Minimum of three years of experience preparing and analyzing financial statements
Professional certification (e.g., CPA) preferred but not required
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is beneficial
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
familiarity with ERP systems preferred
Excellent organizational, time‑management, and documentation skills
Strong critical‑thinking abilities, with experience in research, analysis, and problem‑solving
Working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger operations, and financial controls
Ability to work effectively with internal staff, external partners, and vendors in a professional manner
Nice to have:
Professional certification (e.g., CPA)
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
