We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a finance team in Fort Worth, Texas and support accurate, timely financial reporting for a public company environment. This role works closely with financial reporting leadership to develop external filings, maintain corporate accounting activities, and address complex accounting matters with sound technical analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong reporting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage recurring close responsibilities while contributing to audit support and special projects.
Job Responsibility
Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and statements of equity
Prepare periodic public company filings such as quarterly and annual reports, ensuring disclosures are complete and aligned with applicable reporting standards
Create financial statements and pro forma reporting required for significant acquisitions, including materials associated with current reporting obligations
Produce internal management reporting packages each month and quarter to support business performance review and decision-making
Record journal entries and complete reconciliations tied to technical accounting areas such as consolidations, stock-based compensation, acquisition accounting, equity activity, and debt-related transactions
Support the adoption of new accounting guidance by assessing requirements, reviewing industry practices, and assisting with implementation activities
Research emerging or complex accounting topics and provide initial recommendations to help resolve technical reporting questions
Contribute to the development and rollout of accounting policies and assist external auditors during annual audits and quarterly review procedures
Participate in special assignments and ad hoc financial projects requested by the Financial Reporting Director.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA designation is preferred
At least 3-6 years of accounting experience, including 1 to 3 years focused on corporate accounting and financial reporting within a public company setting preferred
Knowledge of public company reporting requirements and the ability to interpret applicable accounting and regulatory guidance
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with financial reporting platforms such as Workiva
Familiarity with oil and gas accounting concepts and industry-related accounting systems preferred
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present accounting matters clearly.
