We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join a growing team in Rossville, Indiana. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial information, supporting reporting activities, and contributing to a smooth monthly close. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting experience, sound analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with both internal partners and external contacts.
Job Responsibility
Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and contribute to timely completion of the month-end close cycle
Maintain well-organized financial records and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and audit readiness
Assist with financial reporting activities and provide analysis to help inform business decisions
Partner with auditors and support tax-related documentation and filing requirements as needed
Review and analyze accounting data across areas such as job costing, fixed assets, inventory, and payroll
Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to address accounting questions and resolve financial discrepancies
Provide backup support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions when business needs require
Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations to help ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a staff or senior accountant capacity
Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace for reporting, analysis, and documentation
Strong ability to organize information, evaluate data, and identify discrepancies
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across teams
Openness to learning new systems and tools in a changing business environment
Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and confidence in asking questions when clarification is needed
