Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to manage our database environments, ensure performance, and maintain high availability. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data systems, optimizing queries, and supporting mission-critical applications.

Job Responsibility

  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments
  • Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and tune indexes
  • Perform backups, restorations, log shipping, and disaster recovery testing
  • Configure and support high-availability systems such as AlwaysOn, clustering, or mirroring
  • Manage database security including roles, permissions, encryption, and audits
  • Troubleshoot database failures, corruption, long-running queries, and performance bottlenecks
  • Support developers with schema changes, stored procedures, and data migrations
  • Maintain documentation of schemas, configurations, and DR procedures
  • Assist in ETL processes and reporting activities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
  • Strong SQL/T-SQL skills including stored procedures and performance tuning
  • Experience with SSMS, SQL Agent Jobs, SSRS, and SSIS
  • Familiarity with high-availability database configurations
  • Knowledge of indexing strategies, execution plans, and query optimization
  • Understanding of backup strategies and disaster recovery planning
  • Ability to troubleshoot deadlocks, blocking, and database performance issues
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with Azure SQL or cloud-based databases is a plus
  • Relevant certifications (MCSA, MCSE, Azure Data) are a plus
