Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented SQL Database Administrator to support the maintenance, performance, and security of our SQL Server databases. This role is ideal for candidates looking to grow their career in database administration while working with DBA and infrastructure teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server instances
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues of limited complexity
  • Perform routine backups and restores
  • ensure data integrity and availability
  • Support database deployments, updates, and patching processes
  • Respond to support tickets and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner
  • Help manage user access and security roles within SQL Server
  • Document database procedures, configurations, and changes
  • Collaborate with developers and system administrators to optimize queries and database design
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system
  • Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
  • Enforce database administration and user standards and procedures
  • Audit, modify, and amend data in systems using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import
  • Implement and release database changes according to agreed timescales and costs

Requirements

  • Vocational or technical education
  • 1-3 years of experience in database administration
  • Exposure to Windows Server environments
