Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator / Data Engineer to support a major data platform modernization and cloud migration initiative. This role will focus on migrating on-premises SQL Server databases to AWS, building data pipelines, and supporting modern cloud-based database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS database services, Python-based data processing, and data pipeline development. This individual will play a key role in ensuring data reliability, performance monitoring, and scalable data architecture supporting enterprise applications.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the migration of on-premises SQL Server databases to AWS and Snowflake environments
  • Build and maintain AWS-based data pipelines
  • Develop Python scripts for data generation, transformation, and bulk data loading
  • Design and maintain logical and physical data models
  • Support application teams using Amazon RDS and DynamoDB
  • Assist with data validation, migration testing, and performance tuning
  • Develop operational dashboards and monitoring metrics for database performance
  • Ensure data quality, system efficiency, and reporting reliability
  • Support BAU operations for SQL Server and cloud database environments

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Database Administration, Data Engineering, or a related role
  • 5+ years of experience migrating or archiving databases from on-prem environments to AWS
  • Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) or similar migration tools
  • Strong experience with AWS database technologies including: Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, S3
  • Experience developing Python scripts for data processing, transformation, and loading
  • Experience building AWS data pipelines using services such as: AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3
  • Experience designing logical and physical data models
  • Experience supporting application data environments
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB, and Snowflake
  • Hands-on experience configuring AWS data management services including: AWS Glue Data Catalog, AWS DataZone, API Gateway
  • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools such as GitHub and AWS CodePipeline
