SQF Quality Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate and audit all aspects of the Quality Control function in the Fitments Department. Audit QC test methods, test equipment, records, and personnel to ensure compliance with specifications. Train department personnel in quality requirements. Handle department QVRs by completing QVR response, follow through with corrective actions, contact customers as needed and lead efforts in the disposition of returned and held products. Ensure QC training material, techniques, personnel and standard work is in place and current. Quality Manager fulfills responsibilities when vacant.
Job Responsibility:
Performs all work safely in accordance with personal and product safety rules
Understand all product quality tests and have the ability to perform them as needed
Audit paperwork and methods used by personnel for accuracy and completion. Work directly with personnel to address any issues of concern
Able to completely understand all aspects of the product specification, to ensure that parts meet all quality requirements
Ensures all QC equipment is maintained in good working condition and is calibrated
Qualifies new test procedures/equipment with Measurement System Analysis tools (Gage R&R)
Writes Work Instructions and trains on QC methods
Actively & regularly participates in Department meetings (Example: Kaizen events)
Able to apply Statistical Process Control principles
Leads and manages any rework and held-ware decisions/dispositions
Reports any major problems/defects to Operations Management
Manages entire department QVR program. This may include completing root cause and corrective action on QVRs, contacting customer/ SIG Sales if needed to complete investigation, disposition and control of any returned product as part of the QVR
Conduct and administer practical tests as part of the pay for skills program
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years required
or equivalent combination of education and experience in Quality or Continuous Improvement
Develop and maintain quality standards, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions to ensure consistent product and process performance
Communicate technical information and data-driven insights effectively across cross-functional teams and leadership
Demonstrate deep process expertise to optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure operational consistency
Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Kepner-Tregoe) to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
Support product and service scale-up from pilot to full production, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Plan and execute projects, managing scope, timelines, risks, and resources to achieve business objectives
Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to monitor variation, maintain process stability, and drive improvements
Drive results by tracking KPIs and delivering measurable improvements in quality, cost, and operational efficiency
Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and support continuous improvement initiatives
Lead, coach, and develop teams to foster collaboration, accountability, and high performance
