Job Description:

We are currently seeking highly motivated and reliable Civil Construction Labourers to join our busy team based in Townsville. If you are a hard worker who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys being part of a dedicated crew, we want to hear from you! This role is heavily focused on road surfacing and civil upgrades, so any previous exposure to spray sealing or asphalting will put you at the top of the list.

Job Responsibility:

  • General civil construction and physical labouring duties
  • Assisting with spray sealing and asphalting operations on various road networks
  • Operating mobile plant and driving heavy vehicles (if licensed)
  • Working a flexible roster, including both day (AM) and night (PM) shifts to accommodate project timelines
  • Travelling and working away from home on remote or regional projects when required
  • Ensuring a high standard of health and safety is maintained on-site at all times

Requirements:

  • Mandatory Requirements: The right attitude, ability to commit to roster / shifts
  • A strong commitment to safety and teamwork
  • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive Drug & Alcohol screen and a Pre-employment Physical Assessment
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster (AM and PM shifts)
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work away from home as project demands require
  • Construction White Card
  • Highly Preferred: Heavy Commercial (HC) or Multi-Combination (MC) or Heavy Restricted (HR) Truck Licence
  • Roller experienced LR in asphalting
  • Demonstrated experience in Spray Sealing or Asphalting
  • Any relevant licenses and tickets (VOC)
  • Willingness to learn and apply yourself

Nice to have:

  • Heavy Commercial (HC) or Multi-Combination (MC) or Heavy Restricted (HR) Truck Licence
  • Roller experienced LR in asphalting
  • Demonstrated experience in Spray Sealing or Asphalting
