At Mortimer House School, we are a secondary school teaching students aged 11 to 18, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans. Our pupils have social, emotional and mental health needs, and many have experienced significant challenges in their lives. At Mortimer House, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Through use of small class sizes (maximum 4 students) we build real connections with the young people we support. We use positive behaviour support and emotion coaching to help young people feel safe, understood and ready to learn. Our approach is trauma-informed and restorative, ensuring that pupils are supported with consistency, empathy and high expectations. Preparing young people for adulthood is central to our work. We are proud of the positive outcomes our pupils achieve, and we are looking for an English teacher who shares our belief that every young person deserves the chance to succeed, grow and thrive.
