Job Description:

Randstad is looking for dedicated Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Support Workers to join our team in Liverpool. This is a hybrid role where you'll have the impact of in-person sessions combined with the convenience of remote work, all while supporting students to reach their full academic potential.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide learning support and academic guidance
  • Create an individual learning plan tailored to the student's needs
  • Support students to develop independence
  • Build on strengths and learning strategies
  • Create strategies around organisation and time management
  • Create action plans to stay on track with studies
  • Build on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
  • Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
  • Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
  • Take individual student needs into consideration case by case
  • Ensure concerns are addressed in a timely manner
  • Act professionally and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Share all relevant information with Randstad

Requirements:

  • Current membership with one of the following professional bodies: BDA (British Dyslexia Association)
  • ADSHE (Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education)
  • Dyslexia Guild
  • PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers of Students with SpLD)
  • Membership level must meet DfE criteria (typically Associate or Professional level)

  • Proven experience supporting individuals with specific learning difficulties
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional, confidential relationships
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse student caseload
