Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (Spines) – Band 8a. Fixed Term – 9 Months | 31.5 Hours per Week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced clinician to join our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service as a Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner. This is a Band 8a, fixed-term post for 31.5 hours per week over a 9‑month period, commencing 4 May 2026. The post holder will work autonomously as a Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, with a particular focus on spinal conditions. This role carries a high level of clinical responsibility, requiring advanced clinical reasoning, expert decision‑making, and in‑depth knowledge of orthopaedics and related disciplines.
Job Responsibility:
Triage, assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with a defined range of conditions, including complex and highly specialised cases
Take responsibility for the entire patient journey, ensuring safe, effective and patient‑centred care
Active involvement in the development, improvement and delivery of the service
Contribute to meeting service objectives, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements
Requirements:
Experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist with significant expertise in spinal conditions
Confident working at an advanced level and contributing strategically to service development
