Job Responsibility:

  • Provide a mix of face-to-face and Telehealth consultations, delivering safe, person-centred, and evidence-based care while maintaining compliance within the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Manage communication and swallowing disorders, support residents to eat, drink and communicate safely and confidently
  • Work collaboratively with nursing staff, allied health professionals, hospitality teams and families to optimise mealtime safety, enhance quality of life, and promote meaningful engagement and connection
  • Support staff and resident education and help shape organisational improvements in policy and procedure.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Speech pathology, Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia, with 3 years post graduate experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI) framework
  • Strong ability to develop mealtime management plans and communication strategies
  • Demonstrated skills in education and training delivery to nursing, care and hospitality teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge in assessment and intervention for communication disorders and cognitive-communication
  • Current Driver's License and ability to travel within Warrigal's services in the Illawarra, Southern Highlands and Canberra.
