Responsible for speech therapy patient service delivery including evaluation and treatment of routine and complex patients. Responsibilities include evaluating inpatients with speech, language/cognitive, swallowing or voice disorders, completing appropriate documentation/reports and developing and implementing appropriate treatment goals. Performs services that may include modified barium swallow studies. Performs other related duties. Completes required documentation and communicates patient information across the continuum of care. Participates in training and program development and represents the department to the medical and general community. Demonstrates competence in the UCSD Health System core values. Responsible for education of departmental staff in areas of advanced clinical care and customer service.

Requirements:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an educational institution approved by the Board of Speech-Language Pathology, passage of a Board-approved examination
Certificate of clinical competence in speech pathology awarded by the American Speech and Hearing Association
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - issued by the state of California
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
