Job Description:

Are you a Speech Pathologist with an interest in managing communication and dysphagia in the community setting? Do you have a passion to help people from diverse backgrounds? We have an incredible role for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic Specialised Rehabilitation Program (community rehabilitation) team at Western Health. You will develop your clinical leadership skills through a range of opportunities like supervising Allied Health Assistants, a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist and students, as well as involvement in quality improvement initiatives and large research projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Management of a complex caseload, working as part of a highly skilled well supported multidisciplinary team
  • See a variety of patients presenting with stroke, traumatic or acquired brain injury, Parkinson’s disease and other conditions
  • Take on quality and service portfolios
  • Develop clinical leadership skills through supervising Allied Health Assistants, a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist and students, as well as involvement in quality improvement initiatives and large research projects

Requirements:

  • Experience in providing goal-oriented rehabilitation to clients with a range of neurological and non-neurological conditions
  • Experience supervising grade 1 staff and/or Allied Health Assistants or students
  • Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in undertaking quality improvement activities
  • Experience or ability to quickly develop skills in delivering patient care via telehealth (Health Direct platform)
