Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient’s participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication. Monday-Friday. This position is part time 20 hours per week. The territory will be for but not limited to Lorain and Western Cuyahoga counties and surrounding area. The population is pediatrics. 100% travel to the patients homes. This will have 15 visits per week.
Job Responsibility:
Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities
Directs the patient’s participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication
Organizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities
Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities
Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process
Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention
Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients
Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace
Requirements:
Master’s Degree MA or MS Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program required
Graduate Program Clinical Experience required
Must have professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills
Must be physically and cognitively able to provide patient assessment and treatment
Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Speech-Language Pathology services appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on their caseload
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology or Conditional license by the State of Ohio Required Upon Hire
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow (Required Upon Hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification Required Upon Hire
