Job Description:

Provide therapy and evaluation services in accordance with best practices as defined by licensing board and governing agencies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide therapy and evaluation services in accordance with best practices
  • Plans and administers medically prescribed therapy and evaluation services
  • Facilitates development of essential skills necessary to promote independence across all environments
  • Reviews social history, psychological, medical, and previous therapy reports/records
  • Meet with individual and/or parent/guardian to discuss and establish needs
  • Administers appropriate tests and evaluates to determine functional level and potential
  • Communicates information to team participants and provides input for treatment plan development
  • Makes referral or recommendation for therapy and/or equipment
  • Develops treatment plan from physician's orders and evaluation results
  • Conducts individual and/or group sessions within the clinic site to work on specific goals objectives
  • Communicates individual’s program and program changes to team members for consistency and reinforcement throughout all service disciplines
  • Modifies treatment and equipment, when necessary, in response to development and progress within present goals and objectives
  • Completes paperwork and other documentation as required by the program, licensing agencies, and funding sources
  • Utilizes evidence-based methods to address challenging behavior
  • Accountable for maintaining 75% efficiency of direct therapy services
  • Trains and disseminates information to individual and/or parent/guardian regarding treatment programs, home programming, and follow-through
  • May provide, as requested, in-service to peers or other disciplines on specific treatment protocols and/or techniques
  • Supervision of speech-therapy assistant and/or practicum students
  • While performing the duties of this job, employee will comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to Easter Seals Arkansas
  • Employee has access to all client protected health information of the individuals directly served by this person, except psychotherapy notes

Requirements:

  • Degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Arkansas
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of best practices and interdisciplinary programming
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals at diverse levels
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness
  • Ability to independently prioritize and plan work activities
  • Ability to problem-solve independently or in a group setting
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
