The SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (SLP) evaluates for, plans, and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric with acquired or congenital impairments in cognition, communication, or swallowing functions for the purpose of training or restoring the highest possible level of functional independence.
Job Responsibility:
Conducts Speech-Language Pathology evaluation
Plans treatment programs based on assessment
Establishes and carries out treatment programs
Educates nursing personnel, patients, and families
Confers with physicians and other health care practitioners
Manages patient schedule
Prepares written documentation pertaining to patient evaluation and treatment
Completes and hands in end user audit reports and volume reports
Supervises work of Rehabilitation Aides
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited SLP Education Program
Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - State Department for Aging and Disability Services (KS), Department of Health & Senior Services (MO) - Includes licenses for all other states
