Job Description:

As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients
  • Implement individualized treatment plans
  • Contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols
  • Actively shape departmental and organizational goals
  • Provide effective and adequate treatment following department guidelines
  • Perform ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness
  • Modify goals and treatment as appropriate
  • Select appropriate treatment interventions
  • Utilize specialized techniques
  • Address patient safety with follow-up recommended
  • Recommend/obtain equipment as appropriate
  • Address patient/family education using a variety of teaching methods
  • Comply with department policy regarding documentation
  • Complete timecards, productivity logs, billing, and other logs per policy
  • Communicate treatment plan and patient status with team and MD
  • Participate in team conferences
  • Verify payor guidelines/authorizations
  • Contact MD with patient concerns or changes in status
  • Delegate to and supervise support staff and students
  • Precept internship student if requested

Requirements:

  • Speech Language Pathologist: CA, within 6 - months
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice to have:

  • Completed an accredited Speech Pathologist degree program and be board eligible and able to obtain CA SLP license within 6 months or have already obtained a CA SLP License
  • Previous experience as a speech pathologist
