Job Description

At Rady Children’s Health – San Diego Inpatient Speech-Language Pathology Department, the primary focus of our Speech-Language Pathologists is assessing and treating patients of all ages who have been admitted to the hospital, including acute care units and our rehabilitation service. Speech-Language Pathologists evaluate children with communication, cognitive and feeding/swallowing deficits related to their reason for admission and provide specialized therapy to regain & develop functional skills during their hospital stay.

Job Responsibility

  • Assessing and treating patients of all ages who have been admitted to the hospital, including acute care units and our rehabilitation service

  • craft family-centered, innovative treatment plans to improve the patient’s functional potential.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree
  • 1 Year of Experience
  • ASHA – Speech Lang Path
  • BLS for Health Providers (American Heart Association)
  • Speech Lang Pathologist Lic
  • Ability and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division and organizational priorities.

Nice to have

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Specialty certifications in Speech Pathology advanced practice
  • Pediatric experience
