As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital part in delivering person-centred support through our Meaningful Life Model – an inclusive approach that ensures each individual has a voice and is actively involved in their education, care and support. At Kisimul Group, we aim to provide high-quality care, education and vocational opportunities for neurodivergent young people and adults with learning disabilities, often with a diagnosis of Autism. Our services include specialist education, residential care and supported living.

Job Responsibility

  • Support young people within our Children’s homes, supporting consistency of support across the homes and schools
  • Support individuals to develop communication skills, with the aim of promoting independence and empowering them to access a meaningful education and curriculum
  • Carry out assessments of individuals’ communication needs
  • Formulate personalised intervention plans and actively support individuals in achieving their goals
  • Work closely with colleagues, families, carers, and stakeholders to promote the wellbeing and best interests of the people we support
  • Promote functional communication in everyday contexts by embedding support across the curriculum
  • Assess needs and create profiles and documentation to inform staff how to support young people
  • Provide training to staff in effective communication and supportive strategies or interventions

Requirements

  • A recognised professional qualification in Speech & Language Therapy (BSc or equivalent)
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)

What we offer

  • Extensive training packages with time rostered out of your work rota to attend
  • Pension
  • Life Assurance
  • Genuine career development opportunities for those who want them
  • A beautiful home and grounds to work within
  • Fully funded DBS checks
