Requirements

Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and Health Professions Council
Demonstrates excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork
Is confident in supporting families with empathy and clarity
Thrives in a collaborative team and understands the power of shared learning and partnership working to achieve the best outcomes for children and their families
Relevant professional qualification (1st degree level or equivalent)
Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and Health Professions Council
Evidence of Continued Professional Development and learning to a post-graduate masters level (or equivalent)
Extensive experience of working as a SLT with Pre-School children
Substantial experience of working collaboratively with parents and carers
Experience of using a range of informal assessment approaches appropriate to the client group

Job Responsibility

Contribute to the Early Years Triage pathway, carrying out initial assessments for pre-school children referred with speech, language and communication needs
Use specialist clinical skills to make efficient, evidence-based decisions on diagnosis and next steps based on case history, referral information, observation, and assessment
Provide clear, empathic, and accessible feedback to parents/carers, and identify and initiate appropriate onward referrals where needed
Produce succinct, high-quality reports for families and professionals reflecting specialist knowledge
Work collaboratively as part of the Early Years team for the allocated sessions, demonstrating strong communication, flexibility, and advanced problem-solving skills alongside responsibilities within their substantive role
