Job Description

As a Specifications & Packaging Technologist, you will play a key role in ensuring products reach the shelf with complete accuracy, full compliance, and exceptional presentation. This is a varied and rewarding position, combining responsibility for product specifications, packaging development and artwork delivery across both branded and own-label ranges.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure products reach the shelf with complete accuracy, full compliance, and exceptional presentation
  • Manage finished product and ingredient specifications using systems such as Hamilton Grant and Trace One
  • Ensure all product data and labelling meet UK, EU and international regulatory requirements
  • Support audits, maintain compliance, and help the business stay ahead of evolving legislation
  • Lead packaging development projects, collaborating closely with suppliers and internal teams to deliver solutions that meet technical, sustainability, and operational requirements
  • Oversee the end-to-end artwork process, ensuring packaging is accurate, compliant and delivered right first time

Requirements

  • Experience in specifications, ideally with exposure to packaging within an FMCG environment
  • Strong understanding of food labelling legislation
  • Familiar with specification management systems
  • Highly organised individual with exceptional attention to detail
  • Capable of managing multiple projects while working cross-functionally
